Thursday afternoon, we had to call 9-1-1 for a small fire burning alongside our studio on Atlantic Avenue in Conway

Employees of TransMed were driving by at the same time and grabbed a fire extinguisher from their ambulance.

They had the fire out when Horry County and Conway firefighters arrived. They wet down the area for us.

We believe the fire started from discarded smoking materials. WPDE is now a smoke-free campus.

We want to thank the firefighters and the TransMed employees for helping us out Thursday.
