(AP) -- COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley says the Legislature's overrides of her budget vetoes show lawmakers are overspending.
Haley had issued 34 vetoes in the state's $6 billion spending plan worth $105 million.
The Legislature on Wednesday overrode all but nine of them. That left Haley saving less than $508,000 in the spending plan that takes effect Friday.
The Republican governor says examples of overspending include keeping the state's public television agency running as well as using taxpayer money for the 2012 GOP presidential primary.
Haley also lost her veto of $108 million in spending from an account legislators used to pay for college building repairs, worker training and replacement gear for police.
Haley says citizens will decide if they want a Legislature that spends less.
