Governor Nikki Haley is scheduled to sign illegal immigration reform bill S 20 into law Monday in Columbia.
The bill requires police to check the immigration status of drivers they pull over.
Police will also check the status of people they suspect are in the country illegally.
Businesses that knowingly hire someone who is in the country illegally could also be shut down.
The ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Statehouse outside the Office of the Governor.
