The incident happened on highway 22 about a mile from the intersection of highway 90 at 9:17 Saturday night.
State Troopers say the driver of 2005 Ford Taurus traveling west on highway 22 hit the victim, who was walking in the left lane of the two lane road.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard says the victim is 51-year-old Henry Ford, Jr. of Longs.
He was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where he later died from multiple trauma.
