LITTLE RIVER -- Firefighters on scene of large brush fire in northeast Horry County

Firefighters from Horry County Fire Rescue are working a brush fire off Blooms Road near Highway 111 in Little River.

The Forestry Commission says the fire is about 35 acres with a potential of 300 acres.

It says there are no structures threatened. The fire is heading into a field.

The smoke can be seen near the intersection of Highways 9 and 57 in the Brooksville community.

The Forestry Commission has four units on scene and an aircraft providing visual support.
