Solicitor Ed Clements says Rodney Williams pleaded guilty to manslaughter Wednesday morning for the death of his wife, Della.

She was shot and killed in 2008 on Perry Lane in Florence.

A judge sentenced Williams to 23 years.

Clements says Williams did not have a prior criminal record and never said why he killed his wife. He has to serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence before he's eligible for parole.
