NewsChannel 15 has received new information regarding an officer involved shooting in Chesterfield County Tuesday evening.

Pageland Police Chief Larry Brown says officers responded to a home on North Vine Street after resident Barry Louallen called 911 and told dispatchers he had shot his wife, Diane Louallen.

Chief Brown says, upon arrival, officers found Diane Louallen lying dead in the road and Barry Louallen pacing up and down North Vine Street with a gun in his hand.

Officers ordered Barry Louallen to drop his weapon several times. An officer shot Barry Louallen after he pointed his weapon at the officer and refused to put it down, according to Chief Brown.

The Chesterfield County Coroner says Diane Louallen died from gunshot wounds. Barry Louallen was taken to the hospital where he later died from gunshot wounds.

NewsChannel 15 is told the officer is ok. His name is not being released at this time. It is unknown if the officer has been placed on administrative leave pending SLED's investigation.
