Two golf industry leaders were inducted into the Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame Tuesday.
Charlie Byers stretched the Grand Strands golf options in each direction from Myrtle Beach.
He was one of the founding members of both the Dunes Golf and Beach Club and the Surf Golf and Beach Club, the first golf club in North Myrtle Beach.
He also opened clubs in Pawley's Island and Conway.
Golf entrepreneur Paul Himmelsbach used the national media to promote Myrtle Beach as a golf destination and co-created the World Amateur Handicap Championship, which attracts golfers from across the globe each year.
He's also a partner in the advertising agency LHWH.
The Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame is at the Pine Lakes Country Club.
