The wildfire on highway 548 in Horry County is contained but crews continued to work through the weekend.
South Carolina Forestry Commission spokesman Scott Hawkins says there have been a couple of spot-overs in the last 24 hours but none lasted long enough to add to the acreage.
Hawkins adds an approaching front may increase fire activity due to winds, unstable air tonight and into the morning.
Officials ask everyone to stay away from the area for sightseeing since the terrain remains hazardous.
The fire began last Wednesday afternoon.
