The South Carolina Department of Public Safety will conduct a hurricane evacuation exercise tomorrow.

The hurricane evacuation exercise is designed to test lane reversal plans for interstates and highways including U.S. 501 and SC 544 in the event of a mandatory coastal evacuation order.

Lanes will not be reversed during the exercise.

Personnel and equipment from a number of state and local agencies will participate in the exercise.

Hurricane season began June 1st and ends November 30th.
