ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) - Orangeburg County deputies say they busted a nearly million dollar marijuana operation from the air.
Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said the State Law Enforcement Division helped his officers find more than 400 marijuana plants growing last week in a backyard between Orangeburg and North.
Authorities say the land was owned by 35-year-old Talice Dixon, who is charged with trafficking in marijuana. A second man, 47-year-old Timothy Darby, faces a similar charge. It wasn't immediately clear if either man had an attorney.
The sheriff says a second bust last week in Orangeburg County found 63 marijuana plants near Neeses.
