Government shuts down Atlantic Bank and Trust

A bank with a branch in Myrtle Beach has been closed by the federal government.

Atlantic Bank and Trust which is based in Charleston and has a branch off Highway 17 Business in Myrtle Beach was shut down by the Office of Thrift Supervision Friday.

According to a posting on Atlantic Bank's Website, no notice is given when a bank is closed.

All deposit accounts have been transferred to First Citizens Bank and Trust.
