Five paramedics with Darlington County EMS have filed a lawsuit against the county for overtime wages.
The federal lawsuit says the employees did not receive the correct over-time pay as required by the Fair Labor and Standards Act.
They also say they were routinely required to work off the clock because they were only paid for 20 hours of each 24 hour shift, even though they were required to be on-site in the ambulance during the entire 24 hour shift.
County officials filed a response saying they've paid all wages in accordance with its policy and were in compliance with the labor act.
