CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Gov. Nikki Haley is touring the South Carolina coast to talk about being prepared for hurricanes.
Haley has news conferences Friday in Beaufort, North Charleston and Conway to discuss preparations for the 2011 hurricane season.
Forecasters are expecting an active year in the Atlantic during the hurricane season that started on Wednesday.
Haley is touring with Highway Patrol Commander Col. Kenny Lancaster and officials from the Department of Transportation and the state Emergency Management Division.
