(AP) -- COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is telling South Carolina lawmakers to return to their desks to deal with unfinished work.
Legislators officially reached their official adjournment deadline at 5 p.m. Thursday. But Haley immediately told legislators she wanted them back at work on Tuesday.
They'd already planned to return on June 14 for wrap-up session.
Haley wants lawmakers to approve a measure moving control of much of the state's bureaucracy into a Cabinet agency that would report to her. Senators had debated the bill for more than an hour Thursday but it did not reach a final vote before the formal deadline.
