Sharon Outler, who's been attending the Bikefest for the past six years, thinks the repeal of Myrtle Beach's helmet law has brought a bigger crowd for the event back to the Grand Strand.
"Last year was a little less crowded but we were able to ride more freely and go a little faster than well, you know back to back traffic," she says.
Outler and her group have been in the area since Wednesday. She's seen the crowd build in the last few days.
Atlantic Beach Town Manager William Booker says the event's biggest day is Saturday, where they expect 50,000 people.
Most of the activity is centered on Atlantic Beach. That's where the action is, from biker events to live entertainment to dozens of vendors who are now selling their goods.
Myrtle Beach police say they are experiencing a lot of foot traffic on Ocean Boulevard.
