A car dealership honored a Richmond Senior High School student in Rockingham for his hard work and dedication.

The Dieffenbach GM Superstorein Rockingham gave a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze  to Mark Porter, 18, a graduating senior at Richmond HS.

The dealership has given away a car to a senior with perfect attendance and with an average grade of 85 percent or above.

"We feel like it has made a difference. The faculty tells us it's making a difference . Attendance is higher. It's just a great opportunity. We like to give back to the community when we can," said Dieffenbach.

In South Carolina, out of 44,000 students who will graduate statewide this spring, 72 had perfect attendance for their entire school careers. That's 12 years of schooling without missing a single day!

Out of the 72 students with perfect attendance, two are from Horry County
