Major shifts in traffic patterns around AB are in place for Bikefest.
To accommodate the more than 50,000 bikers expected in Atlantic Beach this weekend for Bikefest, major shifts in traffic patterns around the town have been put in place.
North Myrtle Beach has set up a traffic chute on Highway 17. Starting at at least 37th Avenue South, the right-hand, northbound lane will only feed into Atlantic Beach. If you want to by-pass the town, you will have to get in the left-hand lane.
For those who travel into Atlantic Beach, the only entrance into town is on 32nd Avenue South. Traffic will only be able to travel north on Ocean Boulevard and exit through 29th Avenue South.
Traffic will return to normal Monday, when Bikefest ends.
