MYRTLE BEACH, SC -- New York City firefighters are presenting a portion of a beam from the fallen World Trade Center to officials in Myrtle Beach.

Wednesday's presentation to city officials and representatives of the tourism community comes prior to the 10th anniversary of the attack on the Twin Towers.

It's part of events surrounding the annual Fire Department of New York 9/11 Memorial Golf Tournament that has been held on Myrtle Beach area golf courses every year since the attack.

More than 800 firefighters from 15 states and Canada are taking part in the tournament that began Sunday and continues through Thursday.
