South Carolina's unemployment rate has dropped for the fourth straight month.
April's rate was 9.8%, compared to March's 9.9%.
The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce released the April numbers on Friday, saying the state has added 11,700 jobs since March and more than 16,000 in the past year.
South Carolina's unemployment rate has decreased steadily from a peak of 12.5 percent in January 2010.
The two counties at the top of the list for the highest unemployment rate are in the Pee Dee, Marion and Marlboro counties.
Marion County's unemployment rate in April was 18.7%, down from 18.8% in March.
Marlboro County dropped two-tenths of a percent in April to end at 17.2%.
Dillon County went from 14.1% up to 14.2% and Darlington County went up four-tenths of a percent to 11% in April.
Georgetown County went from 10.8% to 10.4%, while Florence County held steady at 10.3%.
Horry County's unemployment rate improved the most of all counties in South Carolina, going from 11.3% in March to 10.2% in April.
