Law enforcement officers in Dillon County got a special treat in recognition of law enforcement week Thursday night.

The officers were honored at the Law Enforcement Banquet in Dillon.

The Dillon County Sheriff's Department unveiled their honor guard at the dinner. About 80 officers and their families came out to the event.

Sheriff Major Hulon says the officers make great sacrifices for our safety. Hulon says, "They put their lives on the line and protect and serve our citizens and they leave home everyday if it's day shift or night shift and like our chaplin said earlier in the week , they never know if they're gonna come back or not, but they're dedicated to service."

The Director of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy served as the keynote speaker. He praised the officers for their courageous efforts.
