MORGANTON, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina teen has died after collapsing during a football practice.
Bob Stofko with Greer-McElveen Funeral Home in Lenoir said memorial services for 16-year-old Luke Killian were held Sunday. Stofko did not know a cause of death.
Killian collapsed Thursday while playing football with some friends who are on his homeschool team the Morganton Mountaineers. He later died at a local hospital.
His coach Doug Deitz told WBTV in Charlotte that Killian has always passed his pre-season physical and his last one was in August.
Deitz says Killian was a good kid and the kind of person every team needs.
