The Veteran's Welcome Home and Resource Center in Horry County celebrated its second anniversary Friday.
Running on volunteer work and sponsorship alone, Kris Tourtellotte says they are way ahead of where they thought they would be in two years.
Tourtellotte is the founder of the center and says that when they first started, they had no money in their pocket and had to ask for donations just to pay the first months rent.
Since then, they have been able to support veterans and help those who need it with expenses like rent and utilities.
The next goal is to provide transportation and to establish a re-integration program that will provide veterans job training and allow them to become productive citizens.
