The largest class size in Carolina Coastal University's history graduated this morning. 934 students walked across the stage at CCU's stadium in the commencement ceremony. 1,154 candidates from May and August were eligible to march in the ceremony, including 83 master's degree candidates.
University president David Decenzo gave the commencement address. Decenzo became president of CCU in 2007, the same year the students in the class of 2011 began at the school.
He quoted Benjamin Franklin as he advised the students to think of the future.
"Simply this:stand to be recognized, speak to be heard, and sit quickly to be appreciated."
Francis Marion University also held it's commencement ceremony today.
