The Darlington Raceway NASCAR weekend activity started with an announcement Friday from Darlington's parent company about a major donation.

The International Speedway Corporation is teaming with driver Jeff Gordon's sponsor, the Drive to End Hunger, to donate leftover food from all of its race tracks to local food banks.

On Monday, all of the leftover food from race weekend will be donated to the Harvest Hope Food Bank in Florence.

Gordon is in his first year of a sponsorship agreement with the drive to end hunger.

He says he's grateful to see all of ISC's race tracks helping his new sponsor's cause.
