The Florence Fire Department says a fire on West Sumter Street Wednesday night was started because cooking materials were left unattended.

The fire was under control in 15 minutes, but one firefighter sustained a minor injury. He was treated at the scene.

Florence firefighters say the majority of house fires in the area are started by unattended cooking. They remind you to "WATCH WHAT YOU HEAT".
