The search for a swimmer who's been missing since last Wednesday ended this afternoon. Sgt. Phillip Cane with Myrtle Beach Police Beach Patrol says the teen's body was recovered at 1:00 p.m. at 29th Avenue North.

Horry County Coroner Robert Edge says the victim is 18-year-old Jeremy Lee Truitt of Maiden, North Carolina.

Officials say on Wednesday, Truitt and two friends went in the ocean off 24th Avenue North. The water started bringing them out into deeper water. Two of the men were able to swim back to shore with help from rescue team.

The U.S. Coast Guard, beach patrol officers, and lifegaurds searched for Truitt.
