According to the clerk with the South Carolina State Grand Jury, Dr. Nathaniel Miller will be tried on October 24 in Marion County.

Miller resigned as the superintendent of Marion School District Two, which is in Mullins, last January shortly following his arrest.

He was charged for stealing more than a half a million dollars from Marion School District Two. According to arrest warrants, the 60-year-old started stealing money two months after he got the job in 2006.

He's accused of paying mortgages, his children's rent and their college tuition on the district's tab.

In November, the state grand jury indicted Miller on 37 counts of embezzlement.

Miller is also accused of taking money from Richland School District One in Columbia when he worked there in 2004 as an area superintendent.

Embezzlement of Public Funds is a felony offense punishable up to 20 years in prison and fines at the discretion of the court.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Columbia Division's Public Corruption Task Force assisted with this investigation.

This case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General's Office.

Circuit Court Judge Michael Nettles will preside over the trial.
