More than 50 men, women, and children welcomed home United States Air Force Captain Todd Hontz at the American Legion post in Murrells Inlet Saturday afternoon.

Hontz, had no idea, "It was just wow, really really surprising."

Members of the Legion riders, the Blue Star Mothers and the Veterans Resource Center lined the Legion post waving flags and yelling thank you's as Hontz and his father drove up. After he arrived, a band played as the group lined up to hug him and thank him for his service.

Hontz says he returned back the states two weeks ago after serving an eight month deployment in Iraq. He has also completed a tour in Afghanistan.

The pilot says he is grateful to be back home and enjoy some homemade cooking. He says he will likely deploy again in the fall.
