Georgetown County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Russell Goodale says three dead animals were found in a suspicious package in Murrells Inlet Tuesday.

The State Law Enforcement Division x-rayed the package and said it contained the animals.

It's in a vacant lot at Summerlake Drive and Fieldstone Court in Prince Creek subdivision off Highway 707 in the Murrells Inlet area.

He says someone found a Fed Ex box taped up with no label on it and called police.

We are waiting to find out where the investigation is headed.
