CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (AP) - First lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, are coming to Camp Lejeune as part of a two-day tour of military communities to highlight the work of nonprofit organizations and businesses that support service member families.
The White House said in a news release Saturday that the pair will speak Wednesday to 3,000 Marines, soldiers, sailors, and military family members from Camp Lejeune.
They also will attend join a unit-wide baby shower for 40 pregnant wives of service members. Homemaking expert and media mogul Martha Stewart will join the shower and teach the expectant mothers the art of scrapbooking.
The tour then moves on to Texas, Colorado and Ohio.
