Strong storms are moving through our region tonight producing high damaging wind and large hail.
There have been reports of hail covering the ground around Darlington, Hartsville, McBee, and Clyde. Lightning strikes in the thousands have also been reported. There have also been reports of trees on fire which are most likely due to a lightning strike.
These storms are expected to continue into tonight and early Sunday morning.
Watches and Warnings in effect right now:
Severe Thunderstorm Watch - Marion, Horry, Georgetown, Williamsburg until 2 a.m.
Tornado Watch - Florence, Darlington, Clarendon, Chesterfield, Lee, Sumter, and Williamsburg Counties until 2 a.m.
Again, the main threats are high damaging wind in excess of 60 miles per hour and hail and inch or higher.
