Myrtle Beach Elementary teachers reached deep in their past to raise money and awareness for premature babies.

The teachers spent time in cribs Friday.

It's a March of Dimes pledge campaign to raise money and awareness for premature babies.

Teachers were put in a crib and not allowed out until their raised enough money.

Many parents picking up their children today donated to the cause.

Kelly Preciado is an organizer of the event, she says, "They got to walk Doug Shaw stadium and do a lap there and that earned them a dime to put in their class collection buckets so that's one thing they're doing everyday. They're bringing coins in that they find around the house."

So far the school is about a quarter of the way toward meeting their goal of $4,000 by mid April.
