HARTSVILLE -- The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission plans to hold a meeting about H.B. Robinson nuclear plant safety  in Hartsville.

The NRC concluded the plant operated safely in 2010, but said the plant exceeded the threshold for unplanned reactor shutdowns in the third quarter.

The NRC said it will increase its oversight and inspections of the Robinson plant.

The meeting is set for 2 p.m. Thursday, March 24 at the Coker College www.coker.edu/ Library's Daniels Boardroom, 300 E. College Avenue in Hartsville. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
