Florence police and fire investigate suspicious house fire

The Florence Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 600 block of Lynch St Friday evening.

When crews first arrived on the scene about 5:50 p.m., they were met by heavy flames from the front of the building. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire within 10 minutes.

There were no injuries. The homeowner was not home at the time of the fire.

The fire has been deemed suspicious by the Florence Police Department.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
