MYRTLE BEACH -- You may have to feed the parking meters a little longer in Myrtle Beach.
City Council voted Tuesday to start standardizing hours for all of its parking meters from 9 a.m. to midnight. Right now, you only have to deposit money in some of them until 7 p.m.
The Myrtle Beach Downtown Redevelopment Corporation wanted to raise rates on the meters from 25 cents an hour to 75 cents an hour. City Council voted that down, opting for the time standardization instead.
Council will have to vote on the change again before the change can happen.
Although some of meters are already up, you don't have to start feeding them until March 1st.
