Monday night, North Myrtle Beach City Council passed the second reading of an ordinance to amend the city's parasailing and banana boat franchise agreements.

Among the agreements was the creation of a two-block buffer zone between the two franchise operations for safety reasons.

Personal watercraft, including Jet Skis may now be used to tow customers and passengers on banana boats. However, customers and passengers are prohibited from being transported on personal watercraft.

The ordinance must pass one more vote.
