Emergency crews responded to a fire in a wooded area off of Hatcher Hill road in the Wallace community of Marlboro County.

Officials tell NewsChannel 15 a house has been destroyed and a few others slightly damaged.

Firefighters in Marlboro and Chesterfield counties are fighting the fire trying to keep it from spreading to other homes and properties.

The South Carolina Forestry Commission is on scene helping to extinguish the fire.

A woods fire in Williamsburg County destroyed three homes.

Fire officials say someone was burning yard debris on Betsy Lane near the Andrews community. The fire got away from them and ended up burning two homes.

A Third home burned on Penny Lane in the same area. Officials say the fire was under control after a few hours. The South Carolina Forestry Commission is investigating to see if anyone should be cited for causing the fire

In North Myrtle Beach firefighters put out a two acre grass fire at Barefoot Resort today that damaged siding on one home.

No one was injured. Outdoor burning, including controlled burns, are not allowed in the city limits.

Counties in the Pee Dee and Grand Strand are under a red flag fire alert.
