MYRTLE BEACH -- James "Bonecrusher" Smith will host a free week-long summer camp for Myrtle Beach kids. Bonecrusher and other boxing legends will teach kids the fundamentals of golf and boxing during the camp that begins June 20.
Bonecrusher and Earnie 'The Acorn' Shavers will also teach kids self-defense skills and how to handle bullying. Parents are invited.
The camp schedule is as follows:
June 20-22: Boxing Fundamentals at the Big 'X' Sports Complex on George Bishop Parkway (6pm - 8pm)
June 23-25: Golf Fundamentals at River Oaks Golf Plantation (5pm-7pm)
The Myrtle Beach Junior Golf Foundation will provide the golf instruction. The organization brought the first ever U.S. Kids Golf Local Tour to the Grand Strand. Its mission is to provide more local, affordable opportunities for juniors to play competitive golf and receive instruction on a year-round basis.
You can find registration information on the Champion for Kids charity website. Smith founded the charity in 2004 with the mission of mentoring kids around the world through the sport of boxing. Smith has made hundreds of public appearances to benefit youth development.
