Florence woman dies in fire

A Florence woman died after a house fire Wednesday night.

The fire happened at a home on Oakland Avenue in Florence, around 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.

A neighbor saw smoke and called 911.

Florence County Deputy Coroner Don Reynolds says Elizabeth Clark, 77, suffered burns to her face and body.

She died on the way to the hospital.

Deputies are investigating what caused the fire.
