Tuesday night, the City of Hartsville honored three police officers for their heroic efforts to rescue a woman from a burning building.

Nearly two weeks ago, two men robbed a woman who works at the Jack-Be-Nimble store in downtown Hartsville.

They assaulted the woman, then set fire to the store.

Hartsville City Police Officers Damon Moody, Teyonde Richardson and Leverne Davis pulled the woman from the building.

Tuesday night, the mayor and city council presented the men with medals of valor.

The officers say they were just doing their jobs, but are honored to receive the medals.

Police have yet to make an arrest in this incident. State police are helping in the investigation.
