LAKE CITY -- Monday afternoon, Lake City Fire Chief Tony Singletary passed away following a sudden illness. City officials tell us he suffered a brain aneurysm at his home Saturday morning.
He died Monday afternoon at McLeod Health hospital in Florence.
His funeral will be held at the Lake City Pentecostal Holiness Church Conference Center (Robinson Memorial Center) at 11:00 a.m. Friday.
Visitation will be Thursday evening at Green's Funeral Home in Lake City, but the times for that have not been set.
Singletary worked for the city fire department for 26 years. He served as chief for the last six years.
Lake City Mayor Lovith Anderson remembers Singletary as a man who gave his heart and soul to Lake City.
