The Myrtle Beach city council will take a second look at noise limits on Tuesday after Horry County hotel owners and motorcycle groups sued over the 2008 ordinance.

The city lowered the maximum vehicle noise to 89 decibels from 99, as part of an effort to cut down on issues relating to two annual motorcycle rallies.

The new proposal would increase the noise limit to 92 decibels.

The higher level is in line with industry standards.

Council members will discuss the matter during their meeting Tuesday night.
