CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Three more inmates have turned up with profiles on social networking sites after readers told a Charleston newspaper about finding them.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported Saturday that social networking site Facebook has pulled the profiles of at least five South Carolina inmates since the paper began writing stories about the pages.

The most recent cases involve two men who were convicted of murder and a third who is finishing up a two-year prison term for assault with intent to kill.

Facebook pulled the profiles of two of the inmates. MySpace would not comment on the inmate page on its site and his page was still active.

A Corrections Department spokesman told the newspaper inmates' cells are searched for phones whenever officials learn of an online account.
