Could you imagine going for a swim today in Saturday's weather? The water in the Atlantic right of Myrtle Beach was 45 degrees.

Well that's exactly what hundreds of people did, participating in a Polar Plunge at Springmaid Beach. The brave group raised at least $100,000 in donations for the Special Olympics running into the frigid ocean water.

There were participants of all ages, in costumes, wet suits, and their swim trunks.

Last year more than 400 plungers raised $82,000 for the Special Olympics.

The Special Olympics is the world's largest program of sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
