Bennettsville police say an officer was directing traffic at Bennettsville Elementary School at the intersection of Country Club Drive and Cook Street just before 8 a.m. Wednesday.

They say the officer gave the school bus driver the right of way, when a car hit the bus. No one was hurt. There is very little damage to the bus.

Bennettsville police are investigating to determine what if any charges will be filed.

NewsChannel 15 is waiting to get details of a second school bus accident in Florence County.

It happened on Savannah Grove Road just after 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Florence School District One's superintendent for administrative services is on the scene and will release more information Wednesday morning.

We talked with an employee at Savannah Grove Elementary School who says the accident appears to be minor.
