CHARLESTON (AP) -- The South Carolina Aquarium is opening a new exhibit for its youngest visitors.

The Toddler Cove exhibit opening Tuesday at the aquarium in Charleston is designed for kids ages 1 through 6.

The children will be able to play on life-size structures in the shape of a whale's tail, a turtle and a canoe. They will also be able to crawl through a giant fish to their own aquarium viewing area and put together puzzles to learn about marine life and shapes.

Aquarium officials say the new exhibit will also help youngsters learn about protecting the coast and develop a love for the ocean.
