(AP) -- The 2011 phone books are out, and an organization in the Columbia area is collecting and recycling old books.

Starting Tuesday, Keep the Midlands Beautiful is collecting phone books at drop-off sites throughout central South Carolina.

Twenty-three different sites are open, with many available 24 hours a day.

The effort runs through March 31 and is sponsored by AT&T Real Yellow Pages, Local Edge and Sonoco Recycling.

A full list of drop-off sites and their hours is available online at www.keepthemidlandsbeautiful.org.
