Dillon police say a 59-year-old woman pulled into her driveway on Washington Street Sunday evening and was approached by a man armed with a small gun.
According to an incident report, the man demanded that she give him her purse. When she told him no, the robber yelled and pointed the gun in her face. Police say the woman then grabbed the gun and struggled with the robber.
The robber overpowered her, snatched her pocketbook and ran toward Deerfield Village. The woman ran behind him, but couldn't keep up. When she lost sight of him, she called 911.
Dillon police and Dillon County deputies searched for the man, but couldn't find him.
The incident report says the woman had her cell phone, credit cards, check book, drivers license and a $100 bill inside her purse. Her name is not being released.
