AIKEN, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say an Aiken man may have knowingly exposed several women to the virus that causes AIDS.
Aiken Public Safety officers said in a news release that 29-year-old Jason Alexander Young was charged Friday with first-degree harassment and exposing others to HIV.
Police say they began investigating after a woman pregnant with Young's child called them after finding his prescription for drugs used to treat HIV.
Authorities say the woman suspects Young also was involved with other women. They say he also threatened her to not talk to police.
Anyone convicted of exposing someone to HIV faces up to 10 years in prison.
It wasn't immediately know if Young had an attorney.
